Surfers Coffee
About This Spot
Nestled along Kamehameha Highway in the heart of Wahiawa, Surfers Coffee unfolds as a warm, laid-back haven where the island’s gentle pace seeps into every sip and bite. This is the kind of place that invites you to slow down, whether you’re kicking off your morning with the soft buzz of espresso shots or winding through a mid-day break while catching the subtle hum of conversation and the occasional clatter of cups. Here, there’s a peaceful rhythm — unhurried but never dull, with a cozy charm that feels both familiar and quietly vibrant.
The atmosphere mirrors a thoughtful neighborhood café, where locals and travelers alike pause to savor moments between busy days. It’s the kind of spot where the scent of freshly brewed coffee mingles with hints of cinnamon and toasted coconut, weaving together unexpected tropical notes with comforting familiarity. The space offers plenty of nooks and plugs, making it a natural pit stop for those looking to settle in with a book or get some work done without sacrificing the easygoing energy of a friendly gathering place.
Surfers Coffee’s menu isn’t just about coffee — it’s a crafted experience in itself. Unique lattes made with creative island-inspired flavors co-exist side-by-side with simple classics, all prepared with care that you can taste in every cup. From the bright tang of an açai bowl to the warm sweetness of a pineapple upside-down muffin, the food pairs seamlessly with drinks that range from a bold cortado to a creamy matcha latte. It’s the kind of place where you might find yourself savoring a coconut milk latte while nibbling on an avocado jalapeño bagel — little moments that feel like a gentle reminder of the island’s laid-back vibe.
There’s a playful spirit here, too — with options like banana lumpia or a wahiawa mocha hinting at the blending of island culture and creative coffee craft. And while the portions lean just right for a casual bite, the true draw is the feeling you walk away with: a quiet sense of discovery, like you’ve found a sweet spot that brightens the long drive toward the North Shore or a comfortable local refuge on a calm island morning.
Whether you’re a regular in need of a dependable pick-me-up or passing through with a curiosity to explore, Surfers Coffee offers something that goes beyond caffeine — a humble space filled with thoughtful flavors, welcoming faces, and that subtle, easy warmth that makes a place feel like a pause well worth taking.

This is such a great cafe if you’re in the area or on your way up to the North Shore from Honolulu. We got the grinch matcha, a dawn patrol mocha, an açaí bowl, and a banana muffin. The matcha was really great, but I’m glad I got it half sweet. My partner got the dawn mocha and it’s VERY sweet so we’d recommend it less sweet next time. The açaí bowl was the perfect balance of sweet and tart, and bonus points for being nut allergy safe! The staff told me they do not blend any peanut butter into their blenders which is a huge plus if you have a peanut allergy like myself, which can make açaí bowls risky. The banana muffin had a really nice crumble topping but we’ll probably get it warmed up next time! Overall 10/10!

Great vibe! Coffee is solid and service is good. Portion sizes could be a little better but no complaints about the quality of the food and drinks. Parking can be tricky but not impossible.

Such a cute cafe! So many fun lattes to try like banana lumpia to Nutella to ube and mango matcha. I definitely will make a stop here anytime I’m on this part of the island

came into surfers coffee to do some school work— they have plenty of outlets (pretty much at every table) so it’s a perfect place to work. i got the avocado jalapeno bagel and it is very good. a bit over price in my opinion, but still good. the maple sugar latte is delicious!

I came here a few days ago on my way to the north shore, I’d heard about this spot on instagram I think, but usually bypass wahiawa and take a different route North. I have to say, I’ve been missing out big time. I ordered a takeaway cappuccino with oat milk, and the whole drive to Waimea Bay, I savored that coffee like never before! Perfectly made, smooth, delicious, just wow! I’m back here today for a mid day drink again, and I brought my dog and she loves it here too. They also offer WiFi, surfing on the big screen, and the furniture and setup is perfect for working on your computer. I also have to mention the staff are VERY friendly, and I’m so so happy to have found a new spot to cruise, work and hang. Can’t rate the food cause I haven’t eaten anything yet, but the menu looks amazing and I can’t wait to come back and try the breakfast burrito!

I had one bad experience with customer service here but honestly that’s everywhere… there’s always someone who doesn’t want to be at work and takes it out on a customer passively aggressively, but it’s been super good lately and I love the vibes and honestly it’s the chillest and best place to study in Oahu for me. I wish it were open later for that reason. I think more people would come in for study and chill if they were opened later. Overall tho this place is great and the matcha latte is really good here!

Comfy place to come and work. Some options for eating. Lots of merch offered. Be careful parking at Walgreens, Jack in the Box or the ramen place to come here. You’ll get towed.
